Campfires, Compass Points, and Choosing What’s Next
What working with youth in the mountains taught me about navigating life—and home loans—with clarity and heart.
As summer winds down and the scent of pine and smoke still lingers in my memory, I can’t help but think of Camp Steiner.
For ten summers, I worked with youth at 10,000 feet—where there was no electricity, no running water, and definitely no cell service. We hiked alpine trails, filtered water straight from the lake, and taught wilderness survival skills. But what I remember most is watching young people step into confidence.
They’d show up unsure. Some scared. Some quiet. Some with a lot to prove.
And slowly—after knot-tying, campfire songs, and quiet talks under starry skies—they’d start to shift. They learned to trust themselves. To lead others. To listen. To belong.
It’s wild how often I see the same thing in my mortgage clients.
People come to me overwhelmed by the process. Sometimes uncertain if they’re ready. Sometimes afraid of what’s ahead. That’s okay. The mortgage process isn’t just about paperwork—it’s about people. It’s about navigating the unknown with someone who’s been down the trail a few times.
Whether you're a first-time buyer, looking to refinance, or just exploring what’s next, I want to be that calm, steady presence—like the lantern light back at camp—that helps you see clearly in the dark.
Because just like those campers, you don’t have to have all the answers to take the first step. You just need the right guide.
Let’s walk the path together. When you’re ready.
