From Setbacks to Stepping Stones: My Journey Back to the Trail and Into Mortgage Lending

For as long as I can remember, movement has been part of who I am. I was a competitive swimmer growing up, and later fell in love with running, hiking, and eventually trail running. The mountains have always been my place to recharge, reflect, and push through limits I didn’t know I could surpass.

But in 2018, everything came to a sudden stop. A back injury left me struggling to do basic tasks, let alone run. Physical therapy became my new workout routine. Massage therapy, stretching, rest—it was a slow, painful climb back to stability. I spent months regaining function, and over a year reclaiming my strength.

I remember hiking in Austria during that time, still in pain, needing help to tie my shoes and carry my bags. I felt like I had lost a part of my identity. But I also knew I wasn’t done yet. Bit by bit, I kept showing up for myself. And eventually, the trail welcomed me back.

Why am I telling you this on a mortgage blog? Because honestly, the path to homeownership can feel a lot like that trail: full of unexpected turns, moments of doubt, and the need for someone to walk with you who’s been there.

As a mortgage broker, I bring that same persistence and compassion to my clients. I know what it’s like to face big, scary hurdles. And I know how to break them down into manageable steps.

Whether you’re buying your first home, refinancing, or exploring options after a tough financial season, I’m here to help you take the next step with clarity and confidence.

Because sometimes, the trail isn’t just where we run. It’s where we rise.
